Some students have all or part of their tuition and student fees paid by a sponsor, such as an Indigenous community, employer, or government agency. This is known as sponsorship or agency billing. In these cases, we process students' tuition and student fee payments directly from an approved sponsor or agency.

How to apply
Sponsoring agencies must submit an online sponsorship application prior to the start of the fall, winter, spring, and summer terms each academic year. Letters of intent to sponsor will not be accepted. We will not accept changes to individual students' sponsorships after the application deadline for the term.
To apply:
- Complete the University of Saskatchewan online sponsorship application by the date shown above.
- If you are a first-time sponsorship agency, do not complete the online sponsorship application. Instead, please email agencysponsorship@usask.ca to be set up with a vendor ID.
Support Resources:
Knowledge base articles are available to help you with each process:
Note:
- Acceptance of a sponsoring agency is at the university's discretion and is not guaranteed.
- If a sponsorship form is not received by the start of the term, the student is responsible for:
- paying their outstanding account with the university by the payment deadline and
- any late payment penalties assessed
- Any withdrawal of funding after the payment deadline will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
- A late sponsorship fee will be charged to sponsoring agencies for forms submitted after the application deadline. A $50 fee for each late submission of up to 10 students will be charged. Each additional group of 10 students submitted will incur an additional $50 charge. The late sponsorship fee also applies to any sponsorship changes submitted after the application deadline.
Late Applications
If an organization intends to sponsor a student but fails to submit the sponsorship application by the deadline, the student’s tuition and fees will be billed to the student and not the sponsor organization. Once the application has been accepted and payment made, the payment will be reflected in the student account. A late application fee will be applied to forms submitted after the above sponsorship deadlines. The fee will be $50.00 for each late submission of up to 10 students. Each addition group of 10 students submitted at the same time would be an additional $50.00.
No restrictions or contingencies on sponsorship are allowed. For example, organizations may not opt out of paying late payment penalties on sponsored students’ accounts for sponsored terms.
The student account of the student to be sponsored must be paid up to date before any sponsorship application will be accepted.
Before you apply:
To help guide your sponsorship decisions, you can ask a student to give you proxy access to some of their student information (e.g., tuition and fees owing, class registration information and grades).
However, once your sponsorship application has been approved, you can not place restrictions or contingencies on your sponsorship.

Approved Sponsors
The university will review the application and notify the organization of acceptance or denial of sponsor status. Sponsor approval is entirely at the discretion of the University of Saskatchewan and may be withdrawn for non-payment or persistent late payment.
Upon approval, sponsors will receive important USask updates and information via the contact details provided.
Your organization will be assigned a client/vendor ID number, which must be included on all payments and correspondence.
