Getting Started
Q. What is the CGPS Awards HUB?
A. The CGPS Awards HUB is an online portal where USask graduate students can navigate CGPS-administered awards and scholarship opportunities. Once logged-in to the portal, students can fill out applications, track reference progress, and accept/decline award offers.
Q. What happens when I log in for the first time?
A. When logging in to the CGPS Awards HUB for the first time, students should sign-in using the button in the top-right corner. Students can log-in with the same NSID and password used to access PAWS.
Once logged in, students will be directed to the the general application. The general application must be completed before students can apply for scholarships and awards.
General Application
Q. What is the general application?
A. The general application is a CGPS Awards HUB tool that matches students with scholarships and awards they are eligible for.
Once a student logs in to the portal for the first time, they will be prompted to provide information about their program, background, and financial details. They will also be prompted to submit a CV and their transcripts.
Once a general application is completed, students will be matched with list of scholarship and awards opportunities that they are eligible to apply for.
Q. Once I have completed the general application, will I be able to change my answers in the future?
A. Yes, in fact, students are encouraged to revisit the general application and make revision is things have changed. This may include updating your GPA, uploading a new version of your CV, and more.
Q. Am I required to provide my personal financial details in the general application?
A. Financial information is required to determine eligibility for financial need-based bursaries. However, students may enter "0" in each field if they'd prefer to not share this information.
Award Applications
Q. What are recommended opportunities?
A. Based on their answers to the general application, students are matched with awards and scholarships that they are eligible for. From this list, students can click individual awards opportunities to learn more or click "Apply" to begin the application.
Q. Can I still edit my application after submitting?
A. Edits to applications are allowed until the submission deadline. After that, applications are locked for review.
Q. I'm not seeing some opportunities I thought I was eligible for. Why?
A. Some awards and scholarships may not be open for application yet. Check back closer to the opening date.
Q. Why does it say "None" in the Action column under "All Opportunities?
A. The award is not currently open for applications or you are not eligible based on your responses in your general application.

Q. How do I view my scholarship results?
A. Use the "My Applications" tab to track the status of your general application and other submissions.
Q. Will I be notified when scholarship results are available?
A. Yes. You'll receive a system-generated email. Notifications typically arrive within a month after the application deadline.
References
Q. How do I know if my reference completed their section?
A. Log into the portal and go to the "References" tab to check the status of each request.
Q. Can I change or replace a reference?
A. Yes. Go to "My Applications", select the opportunity, scroll to the reference section, and update or add a new reference.
Q. Can a student see the reference letter submitted?
A. No. Reference letters and questionnaires are confidential and only viewable by administrators or reviewers.
Q. Can students upload a reference letter or fill out a reference questionnaire for someone else?
A. No. References must complete their own submissions. However, if a reference provider refuses to use the system, a System Administrator may upload the letter on their behalf.
Q. A reference couldn't or wouldn't upload their letter. What can be done?
A. If a reference cannot or would prefer not to use the CGPS Awards HUB, they can contact a System Administrator by emailing
gradstudies.awards@usask.ca. The System Administrator can assist with uploading the letter or questionnaire on their behalf.
Q. I got an email asking to be a reference, but I don't know what it's for. What should I do?
A. Reach out to the student for details. The questions on the questionnaire may be specific to the opportunity.
Q. Do references have a deadline to submit?
A. There's no system-enforced deadline, so it's best to confirm with the applicant.
Q. How can I confirm my reference has been submitted as part of my application package?
A. Once logged in to the CGPS Awards HUB, click the 'References' tab on the top of screen. Find the specific award opportunity and look under 'Status'. If your reference has been submitted, it will show a 'Submitted' status. If not, you can click 'Resend Request' to trigger a new email prompting them to submit their reference online.
Your reference must be submitted prior to the application deadline. It is ultimately the applicant's responsibility to confirm their reference has been submitted on time.
