CFOAPAL defence external-examiner expenses submit-expenses travel-costs

The intended audience of this article is staff and faculty involved in coordinating External Examiners.

The College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (CGPS) has created an External Examiner Fund to ease the process of submitting eligible expenses. Pre-approval to use the fund is required.

For access to the fund CFOAPAL and pre-approval, contact the CGPS Director of Graduate Scholarships and Awards Services, leah.johnson.usask.ca.

The recommended processes are as follows:

If the external examiner has a Concur profile or guest account:
- Approval to travel can be done through Concur.
- Step-by-step instructions are available here.
If the external examiner does NOT have a Concur profile (which many external examiners do not have):
- The Authority to Travel form is required
If eligible expenses have already been incurred before pre-approval:
- From another CFOAPAL: submit a correction via this ticket: Correct a Transaction - ConnectionPoint Services - Service project
- From an external source: submit the expenses directly through Concur.
