You will receive an email when your interlibrary loan (ILL) or scan request is ready. The email will explain where and when to pick up your item(s). There are different procedures depending on if you ordered a physical/print item or a digital item.
We cannot guarantee the format received (print, electronic, microfilm, etc.).
For physical/print interlibrary loan items
In the email you received, there will be a PICKUP AT line that indicates where you can go to retrieve your item(s). This will be the Library Services desk at any of our library locations on campus, unless you selected the Distance and Distributed Library Services (DDLS) option. Bring your library card/campus ID card to the library location's service desk during regular hours to pick up your item(s).
The email also indicates the date that your item will be held until. If you do not pick it up before this date, the item will be returned to the lending library.
You can select the pickup location when initially submitting your request from the Pickup Location drop-down menu on the request form. The default pickup location is the Murray Library.
If you are registered for
DDLS, you can select
Distance and Distributed Library Services as the pickup location and the physical item will be mailed to you.
For digital items
A temporary link to download digital items (both ILL and scan requests) will be emailed to your USask email account. Remember to regularly check your USask email and to download a copy of your file for your personal use.
Be sure to download files in a timely fashion. Digital files are available to download for 10 days from when you first open the link and the link can only be accessed three times before it expires.
