Interlibrary Loan (ILL): Renew Borrowed ILL Items

Details

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) connects you with materials from other libraries when we do not have what you need in our collection. ILL items are different from regular USask Library items and must be renewed in a different manner. The lending library must be asked for a renewal and we will contact you with either the new due date, or to let you know the item cannot be renewed.

You should request a renewal a week before the due date. This allows time for the lending library to respond. Follow the instructions below to start the renewal process.

Method 1: Request a renewal from within your interlibrary loan account

  1. Go to the Interlibrary loan and scan request page.
  2. Log in with your NSID and password using the Create or track a request button
  3. Go to the Requests tab
  4. Find the title and click the green Renew request button on the right
  5. You will receive a confirmation e-mail
  6. Staff will contact you when the lending library responds

Method 2: Contact our Resource Sharing staff

Contact the Resource Sharing team to request a renewal for any of your physical interlibrary loan items. Please provide the request number (2########) found on the ILL bookmark, just below the barcode, if possible

  • Email: illquery@usask.ca
  • Call: (306) 966-5963
  • Visit our office Room 122, Murray Library (Monday-Friday, 9 am to 5 pm)
