Overview
Delegated Approvals allows you to assign another University of Saskatchewan employee to review and act on approvals on your behalf while you are unavailable, such as during vacation, leave, or an extended absence.
When the delegation is active, new approval requests that would normally be sent to you are routed to your designated delegate. When the delegation period ends, new approvals are routed directly to you again.
Before You Begin
Before creating a delegation:
- Choose a delegate who understands the types of requests they may need to approve.
- Choose a delegate who has the appropriate authority to act on your behalf.
- Remember that you remain accountable for approvals completed under your delegation.
- You can schedule a delegation in advance.

Edit or Cancel a Delegation
If your availability or delegate changes, you can modify or remove an active or future delegation.
-
Go to Services > My Approvals.
-
Locate the active or future delegation.
-
Select the appropriate option:
- Edit to change the delegated approver or delegation dates.
- Cancel to remove the delegation or end it early.
What Happens During a Delegation?
When a new approval is created while your delegation is active:
- Your delegate receives the approval notification instead of you.
- The approval remains visible to both you and your delegate.
- Either you or your delegate can approve or reject the request.
- If your delegate acts on the request, TeamDynamix records that the decision was made on your behalf.
- Approvals that were already pending before the delegation began remain assigned to you and are not transferred to your delegate.
Important: Delegation does not prevent you from acting on an approval. It changes who receives notifications for new approvals and allows your delegate to act on your behalf.
View Approvals Delegated to You
If another person delegates approvals to you:
- Go to My Approvals.
- Locate the requests delegated to you.
- Review and action the requests in the same way as your own approvals.
TeamDynamix identifies approvals that have been delegated to you.
