Approval Pathway
- Academic unit, including the relevant college faculty council or equivalent as applicable
- CGPS Graduate Programs Committee
- Consultation with the Registrar (completed by CGPS)
- Academic Programs Committee of Council (final approval for major academic revisions that do not impact budget or tuition)
- University Council (final approval for changes impacting tuition or budget)
- Senate Education Committee (final approval for admission changes)
Deadlines
All major program revisions (excluding admission revisions) must be fully approved by all levels of governance by January 31 for inclusion in the University Catalogue. To ensure there is sufficient time for all processes to be completed by the January 31 deadline, it is strongly recommended that major program revisions are submitted to CGPS by October 15.
Admission requirement revisions must be approved by May 31 for inclusion in the University Catalogue, to be published the following year (i.e., admission changes approved between September 2024 and May 2025 will be published in the 2026-27 University Catalogue).
