Find a Dictionary

Details

The USask Library holds hundreds of dictionaries in a variety of different languages, and in print and online formats. There are three ways to search for a dictionary: the catalogue, USearch and databases.

Search with the Library Catalogue

The quickest way to find language dictionaries is to do a subject search in the library's catalogue for "English Language - Dictionaries." Here is a link to search results for English Language - Dictionaries.

For dictionaries in languages other than English, you can replace the word "English" with whichever language you are looking for. For example, a search for "French language - dictionaries" will give you over 100 results for French language dictionaries.

Title Search with USearch

If you know which dictionary you are looking for, you can search for it by title using USearch. The book with that title should appear at the top of the results list.

Database Search with USearch to Find an Online Dictionary

The University Library subscribes to several dictionary databases. To find an online dictionary, click the Databases tab on the library's homepage and type in "Dictionary." Don't forget to log into the library website before accessing online resources. Check out the Connect from Home page if you experience any issues accessing resources remotely.
