Web Browsers: Open a Private Browser Window

Microsoft Windows


Google Chrome:

  1. Launch Google Chrome.
  2. Click on the menu drop-down in the upper right corner (three stacked horizontal dots).
  3. Select "New Incognito window".
  4. A new private window will open that says "You've gone Incognito".

Microsoft Edge:

  1. Launch Microsoft Edge.
  2. Click on the menu drop-down in the upper right corner (three horizontal dots).
  3. Select "New InPrivate window".
  4. A new private window will open.

Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Launch Firefox.
  2. Click on the menu drop-down at the upper right corner (three horizontal lines).
  3. Select "New private window".
  4. A new purple private window will open.

Opera:

  1. Launch Opera.
  2. Click on the Opera logo on the upper left.
  3. Select "New private window".
  4. A new private window will open.

 

MacOS

  1. Launch Opera.
  2. In the top Menu bar, select "File", and then select "New Private Window".
